Room 322, Thursday Midday

Didi had spent some time this morning talking to her fish as she cleaned and rearranged their tank. Either she was a little bored, or they had seen fascinating things during the gremlin invasion. It might have been both.

Once she'd gotten all of the conversation out of Slim and Wandsworth that a girl could expect (and a bit more), she flopped down on her bed and started watching a DVD of the movie from class yesterday. She hadn't seen it all the way through, and Scottish Accent Guy was hot.

The door to her room was open a crack so she could see people in the hall.

"Wellll..." Jaime drawled playfully. The truth was he'd ordered too much. Eyes bigger than his stomach and all that. "I think there's enough to share."

"And the week's been good. Yours? And your weekend?"

Jaime started to answer with a flip 'do I look like the sort of guy who smashes slimy things?', but... "A little," he admits. After all, Didi is his roommate.

And he sort of likes having one person he doesn't lie to at Fandom about all of that stuff.

"A little bit of fun, I guess." Jaime shrugged a bit uncomfortably. He didn't really do the heroing thing because he enjoyed it. Though he did just a little bit.

"And, no, no injuries. The Scarab's pretty good about keeping me safe."

That got a nod while Jaime popped some chicken into his mouth thoughtfully. "Yeah. That's how I'd put it. I mean, not that I hate it, but..." he shrugged.

Jaime cocked his head just a bit. "Is it... ever the same for you?" Then he shook his head. "Sorry, that was a bit insensitive... forget I asked."

"Well..." he shrugged. "I'm sure my mom would love to have you visit us in El Paso sometime. Even for a while if, you know, you're looking for somewhere to crash.

"Texas has some great people in it," Jaime grinned. "Though... I feel it's only fair to warn you that you might have to put up with Paco hitting on you."

"But, seriously? Yeah. I think you'd fit in just fine. Might even start a new fashion trend or something."

"A little bit," Jaime admitted. "Looking at colleges and that sort of thing." He frowned a bit. "Trying to figure out how to balance that and... well, the Scarab thing."
weldedtomyspine: (mildly amused)

"I... don't know, actually. I know that no one I've talked to knows how to remove it." And... the truth was he wasn't sure he would if he could. Jaime forced a sheepish smile. "I don't know. I guess I'm just so used to not talking about it... kind of rude of me, huh..."

"So, yeah... you're my roommate. Feel free to ask whatever you want."

"Well, that is the part that really matters," Jaime pointed out with a laugh. "And it's not like the Scarab makes that part any easier." He had to work hard for that chicken! He'd... you know... walked!
weldedtomyspine: (LOL)

Jaime laughed with her. "Most of it's pretty boring. Ingredients, cooking instructions, food quality, that sort of thing. And then it talks about natural toxins like capsicum like it's some sort of clever threat."
